1939
Robert T. Davis Sr. (ENG) retired after a career as a registered professional engineer and corporate officer for Corbett Industries. He retired from the military as a colonel and was awarded a bronze star. He and his wife, Dorothy, have three children and live in Wilmington, N.C.
1949
Robert J. Bevins (AG) completed his term as commander of Post 202 of the American Legion. He is professor emeritus of agricultural economics at the University of Missouri. He holds a master’s of agricultural education from UT and a doctor-ate from Michigan State. He and his wife, Priscilla LeBaron Bevins ’55 (ED/HHS), have two children and live in Columbia, Mo.
1954
Hugh J. McSpadden (A&S) is senior staff scientist with Goodrich/Universal Propulsion in Phoenix, Ariz. He and his wife, Mary, have two children and live in Glendale, Ariz.
Dr. Neno Spagna (A&S) retired as an urban planner in Florida. Previously he worked for the Chattanooga, Tenn., Housing Authority and TVA. He continues to work part-time for the city of Naples, Fla., and is associated with the International College. The college’s public administration faculty office is dedicated to him for his community service and loyalty. He and his wife, Patricia, have two children and live in Naples.
1955
Dr. Betty Sue Effler Taylor (ED/HHS), Spring Hill, Fla., retired as a professor at City University of New York and is the artistic director at Stage West Community Theater. She received her master’s in speech from UT.
1957
Dr. Charles P. Rader (A&S) was named American Society for Testing and Materials Committee D11 distinguished service award winner. He is a retired marketing technical service principal. He received his undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees in chemistry from UT. He and his wife, Clarita Morgan Rader ’58 (ED/HHS), have one child and live in Akron, Ohio.
1958
Samuel "Sam" H. Powell (CBA), retired after 37 years with TVA, was honored with the Tennessee Conservationist lifetime achievement award for his work with Cumberland Trail State Park. He was also honored for his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts and environmental causes. He and his wife, Mary, live in Signal Mountain, Tenn.

Roger Paul Trew (CBA) is financial secretary/treasurer for Polk County Baptist Association in Benton, Tenn. He and his wife, Brenda, have two children and live in Benton.

Robert L. Easterly (ENG) owns Edgefield Interiors in Nashville. He has two children and lives in Nashville.
Ryland L. Hoskins (COM/IS) is executive director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. For the past 36 years, he has been a public relations/marketing executive. He and his wife, Laetitia, have two children and live in Nashville.
Dr. Edgar L. Mohundro (ENG) is self-employed as a chemical engineering consultant in Loudon, Tenn. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two children.

James A. Van Eynde (CBA) was named Transportation Clubs International’s 2002 person of the year. He is the manager of carrier services for Continental Traffic Services Inc. in Memphis. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Bartlett, Tenn.
1964
Dr. Charles L. Gardner (ENG) retired and is now consulting in Lexington, Ky. He earned his master’s degree from the College of Engineering at UT in 1968. He and his wife, Marylou, have two children.
David C. Nelms (ED/HHS) is a small business editor/consultant with Business Advisors Press in Port Orange, Fla. Nelms recently retired after 25 years with Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, Fla. He received his MBA from UT in 1969. Nelms and his wife, Julie, have four children and live in Port Orange, Fla.
Ward S. Thomas (CBA) is employed with NationalLink Inc. of Buena Park, Calif., as a marketing representative. He and his wife, Lolly, live in Buena Park and have four children.

Billy "Bill" J. Roberts (A&S) retired from Pfizer Inc. after 20 years in the cancer pharmacology section. He received his undergraduate degree in zoology from UT. He lives in Ann Arbor, Mich.
1966
Katherine "Kitty" Therrell Crider (ED/HHS) won second place in food feature writing (under 200,000 circulation category) in the Association of Food Journalists 2002 awards competition. She is food editor/writer for the Austin (Tex.) American-Statesman. She and her husband, Chester H. Crider Jr. ’65 ’66 (ENG), have two grown children and live in Austin.
Dr. Curtis A. Siller Jr. (ENG) received his undergraduate, master’s and doctorate degrees from the College of Engineering. He received an exemplary service award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Communications Society. He is the chief technology officer at Cetacean Networks Inc. in Portsmouth, N.H. He and his wife, Patsy Scott Siller ’66 (CBA), live in Andover, Mass.

Lewis H. Dickson Jr. (CBA) is a pilot with Delta Airlines. He and his wife, Debbi, have four children and live in Lenoir City, Tenn.

Dr. Joan Triplett Easterly (A&S), Knoxville, received the Tennessee Foreign Language Teaching Association’s (TFLTA) Jacqueline Elliott Award for service in higher education.The annual award, which recognizes the outstanding college teacher of foreign language in the state, is named for a UT professor emeritus of French. Easterly is professor of French at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville and is married to Dr. Clay E. Easterly ’72 (A&S).
Barry K. Hambleton (CBA) is manager of financial planning and analysis for C-E Minerals in King of Prussia, Pa. Hambleton has three children and lives in West Chester, Pa.
Craig G. Ross (ENG), Tarpon Springs, Fla., is a senior engineer with Honeywell Inc. in Clearwater, Fla. His wife, Suzanne Scofield Ross ’68 (A&S), is a medical technologist at St. Petersburg General Hospital. They have two children.
Edward F. Schmidt (CBA), Clarksboro, N. J., is CEO of Schmidt Moving & Storage °© Mayflower. He has three children.

Karen Holland Bird (ED/HHS) is a teacher with Gainesville (Ga.) City Schools. She and her husband, Edward, have two children and live in Gainesville.
Dr. Kinya Aoyama (ENG), Akiruno Tokyo, Japan, works for the Japan Defense Agency as director general, Technical Research and Development Institute. He received his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from UT in 1971. He and his wife, Kazue, have two children.

Marc Auerbach (ED/HHS) is logistics manager for Gart Sports in Houston, Tex. He and his wife, Lisa, have one child and live in Houston.
J. David Bohan (CBA) is president and CEO of Bohan Advertising/Marketing. He was the first travel and tourism figure to be named a Knight of the Roundtable, Tennessee’s highest tourism industry accolade. He and his wife, Linda, live in Brentwood, Tenn.
Dr. Judith Reaves Davenport (SW) co-presented with her husband, Joseph Davenport III ’68 (SW), "Eduard Lindeman’s Contributions to Rural Social Work" in conjunction with her keynote address at the 27th National Institute on Rural Social Work at Frostburg State University in Maryland. She is a professor of social work at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She and her husband have one child and live in Columbia.
Frank C. Glenn (ED/HHS) is pastor at East Union Christian Church (Disciples) in Lexington, Ky. Glenn and his wife, Kassiani, have two children and live in Lexington.
Kenneth J. Goldstein (CBA) is general manager for Aviation Safeguards of Philadelphia, Pa. He and his wife, Lynn, have two children and live in Wilmington, Del.
Dr. Douglas K. Gordon (A&S) is dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. He and his wife, Linda, live in Newport News.
Robert Scott Lyons (ENG) is employed at Fluor Corp. as the Dallas (Tex.) client resident project manager. Lyons and his wife, Jean, have four children and live in Houston, Tex.
Charles "Hale" Moss (AG) is co-owner of Moss Brothers Feed Store in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. The store recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. He and his wife, Brenda, have one child and live in Old Hickory, Tenn.
William G. Shurtleff (CBA) is sales director for Sprint in Tampa, Fla. He and his wife, Judy, have one child and live in Valrico, Fla.
Dr. Fred L. Whiting (A&S) retired in 2001 from DuPont Co. in Virginia as technical group manager. He and his wife, Susie, live in Afton, Va.

Robert "Bob" E. Porter Jr. (CBA) is president of family-owned Porter Realty in Richmond, Va. He and his wife, Edley, have two children and live in Richmond.

R. Chris Brown (ENG) is a self-employed engineering consultant. He and his wife, June, have two children and live in Stafford, Tex.
Timothy "Tim" P. Campbell (AG), Dyersburg, Tenn., works for the UT Agricultural Extension Service as county director. He earned his bachelor’s degree in general agriculture from UT Martin in 1970. Campbell and his wife, Glynda Jane Bricker Campbell ’81 ’85 (UT Martin), have one child.
Dr. James A. Culver (AG) is managing director/trade finance with Maple Financial Group of Jersey City, N. J. He earned his Ph.D. in agricultural economics from UT in 1978. He and his wife, Nancy Margaret Neese Culver ’ 71 ’73 (CBA), have four children and live in Ridgewood, N. J.
John H. Edmondson (COM/IS) is the 2002-2003 president of the Marshville (N.C.) Chamber of Commerce. He owns a weekly newspaper in Marshville, where he lives with his wife, Mary, and their two children.
David W. Gonza (CBA) is a security officer for Wells College in Aurora, N.Y. He and his wife, Christine, have one child and live in Auburn, N.Y.
Ltc. Lawrence M. Leahy (A&S), a founding member of the UT Rugby Club, was a member of the Victoria Rugby Football Club representing both the Texas and Western Rugby Unions in the 2002 USA Rugby Division III national championships. He received his undergraduate degree in economics from UT. Leahy and his wife, Mary Jo, have two children and live in Yoakum, Tex.
Dr. Jo-Ann Summitt Marrs (ED/HHS) is chair of the department of professional roles and mental health nursing at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. She was formerly with Lakeview College in Danville, Ill., St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Knoxville, Union University in Memphis, Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D., and Pittsburg State University in Kansas. She received her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in education from UT and earned her degree in nursing from UT in 1987. She and her husband, John B. Marrs ’72 ’77 ’83 (ED/HHS), live in Loudon, Tenn.
William A. Massey (CBA) is president of Byte-Size Corp. of Cordova, Tenn. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children and live in Cordova.
Louanne Powell Merrell (A&S) is administrative assistant with B. Merrell Inc. in Columbus, Ga. She and her husband, Barron, have one child and live in Columbus.
Diane Batts Morrow (ED/HHS) is assistant professor of history and African American studies at the University of Georgia in Athens. Her book, Persons of Color and Religious at the Same Time: The Oblate Sisters of Providence, 1828-1860, was published by the University of North Carolina Press. She and her husband, John, live in Athens.
William R. Pearson (A&D) is senior project architect at Gordon H. Chong & Partners in San Francisco, Calif. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children and live in San Francisco.
Stan J. Raichlen (ENG), Mountain View, Calif., is president of Timberline Computing. He received his master’s degree in electrical engineering from UT in 1979. Raichlen and his wife, Pat, have two children.
Nancy J. Rhea (ED/HHS), Seminole, Fla., is a guidance counselor at Palm Harbor Elementary School. She earned her master’s degree in guidance from UT in 1982.

Dennis C. Chadwick (CBA), Lilburn, Ga., is new car salesperson with Hayes Chrysler Plymouth Dodge Jeep. Chadwick and his wife, Janet, have four children.
Carolyn Hatmaker Cox (ED/HHS) is assistant principal at Campbell County (Tenn.) High School. She received her master’s in English education from UT in 1976. Cox and her husband, Bruce Lee Cox ’81 (ENG), live in Lake City, Tenn.
Dr. Charlotte A. Gorman (A&S) is listed in the 2003 Who’s Who In America. She received her undergraduate degree from Delta State University and her master’s in sociology from UT. She holds a second master’s in home economics and a doctorate in educational administration from Ball State University. Her publishing credits include three books and several journal articles. Gorman and her husband, C. Curtis Trent, live in Cleburne, Tex.
Douglas R. Jarboe (CBA), Fayetteville, N.C., is an instructor of information systems and network administration at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
Stephen W. Murphy (CBA) is vice president of production and logistics of Freudenberg°©NOK in Milan, Ohio. He and his wife, Sandie, live in Milan and have five children.
Patricia A. Pierce (ED/HHS), director of the Opportunity Development Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, was honored by the YW’s Academy for Women of Achievement and AmSouth Bank. She is former compliance director of the Tennessee Human Rights Commission and is active in the Women’s Political Caucus and the YWCA. She lives in Nashville.
Dr. Robert "Bob" Pollock (A&S) released his book, Teacher Interviews: How to Get Them and How to Get Hired! through Advanta Press. He has more than 30 years’ experience in education. He and his wife, Mary Ruth, live in Bridgewater, N.J.
James "Jim" L. Thomas (AG) is assistant city manager for the city of Goodlettsville, Tenn. Thomas earned his master’s in animal nutrition from UT in 1975. He and his wife, Suzanne Frost Thomas ’73 (CBA), have one child and live in Goodlettsville.
Dr. Richard N. Weisberg (A&S) is a business owner in Laguna Hills, Calif. He earned his master’s in social work from UT in 1975. He and his wife, Elaine Waldrop Weisberg ’74 (CBA), have two children and live in Monarch Beach, Calif.

John M. Braly (ENG) is vice president of TTX Co. of Chicago, Ill. Braly and his wife, Barbara Prall Braly ’75 (ED/HHS), have three children and live in Glen Ellyn, Ill.
Dr. Deborah D. Canter (ED/HHS), a professor at Kansas State University, received the Medallion award of the American Diabetic Association. She received her undergraduate degree from UT Martin in 1972 and her master’s and doctorate (1977) from UT in Knoxville. Canter lives in Manhattan, Kans.
Dr. Penelope "Penny" Blackwood Ferguson (A&S) was selected as a Disney American Teacher Award winner. She heads the English department at Maryville (Tenn.) High School (MHS). She and Mark White, a social studies teacher at MHS, were nominated for their teamwork on several projects. Ferguson received her master’s in English and doctorate in curriculum and instruction in 1988 from UT. She and her husband, Samuel L. Ferguson ’75 ’81 (ED/HHS), live in Maryville.
P. Chris Bailes Hauck (ED/HHS) is vice president of J. Crew Group located in Lynchburg, Va. She earned her master’s degree in elementary education from UT in 1978. Hauck has one child and lives in Forest, Va.
Dr. Kathryn M. Kolasa (ED/HHS) received a distinguished professor award from East Carolina University. Kolasa was also named a Brody School of Medicine master educator. She and her husband, Patrick Kelly, live in Greenville, N.C.
David C. Martin (ENG), Harriman, Tenn., is self-employed as a principal engineer. He and his wife, Nancy Willis Martin ’72 (ED/HHS), have two children.
Michael David Rothwell (A&S) is deputy administrator for Idaho Department of Correction in Boise, Idaho. He has four children and lives in Boise.
Dr. Ann Stover (ED/HHS) was selected by USA Today to the All-USAToday Teaching Team. She is the site administrator and instructor at the Continuing Education Academy, a program for at-risk students in the Tolleson Union High School District in Tolleson, Ariz. She lives in Sun City, Ariz.
Dr. Wayne C. Wolfson (A&S) was named chiropractor of the year by the Florida Chiropractic Association. He chairs the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine and is president of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Board. He and his wife, Ellen, live in Orlando, Fla.
1975
Jack A. Muncy (AG) was awarded the 2002 Presidential Field Forester Award from the Council of the Society of American Foresters. Muncy earned his master’s in forestry from UT in 1980. He and his wife, Beverly, have three children and live in Norris, Tenn.
Joy Scruggs (ED/HHS), Emory, Va., teaches health in the physical education department and is head women’s basketball coach at Emory & Henry College. She was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference coach of the year for 2001-2002. Scruggs has posted more than 300 wins in 22 years of collegiate coaching.
David W. Smith (CBA) is president of Johnson & Galyon Contractors Inc. of Knoxville. Smith earned a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the College of Engineering in 1983. He and his wife, Lucy Schantz Smith ’75 (ED/HHS), have two children and live in Knoxville.

Rose Cowden Wright (NUR) is a nurse manager with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. She earned her master’s in nursing from UT in 1979. Wright and her husband, Charles, have two children and live in Augusta.

Regina Vincent Clark (COM/IS) is director of first-year students professional development program at Tennessee State University in Nashville. She recently authored a book, Yes, God, I’m Listening, published by JVC Communications, July 2002. She is a poet, actress, motivational speaker, and a radio commentator/panelist at WFSK-FM. Clark earned her master’s degree in communications from UT in 1982. She has four children and lives in Nashville.
Philip Ernest Cobble (CBA) recently celebrated 25 years as a real estate professional in Knoxville. He and his wife, Marianne, live in Knoxville.
Ronald E. Harr (COM/IS) works for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Tennessee insurance as senior vice president for TennCare. He and his wife, Barbara Wampler Harr ’76 ’77 (ED/HHS), live in Signal Mountain, Tenn.
Adelaide Fowler Herrington (A&S), Atlanta, is director of admissions at Trinity School. She and her husband, Frank Herrington ’76 (A&S), have two children.

David L. Palmer (A&S) is founder and principal consultant for the Palmer Group, which provides business valuation appraisal and litigation services. He and his wife, Rebecca, live in Houston, Tex., with their three children.

Cynthia Odom Taylor (ED/HHS) is a biology and chemistry teacher at Monterey High School in Cookeville, Tenn. Taylor was named by Cable in the Classroom as one of the ten most innovative technology educators in the nation. She and her husband, Craig, have two children and live in Cookeville.
Steven L. Wyatt (COM/IS) received the Harvey I. Cobert Award from the Volunteer Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Wyatt is director of public affairs for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oak Ridge (Tenn.) Operations and is responsible for communications activities at DOE facilities in Oak Ridge and four other southeastern states. He and his wife, Susan Miller Wyatt ’82 (COM/IS), live in Knoxville.

Dr. Margaret A. Choka (A&S) is 2002-03 president of Women in Higher Education in Tennessee. She is a professor of sociology at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s (1980), and Ph.D. (1986) from UT and lives in Knoxville.
Kevin M. Finnegan (AG) is the student database administrator at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, N. J. Recently he published a book, Using MS Access to Create Reports from SASIxp. Finnegan holds a master’s in educational administration and supervision from Rutgers University. He lives in Metuchen.
