Torchbearer: Spring 1997

It's the Law

The new law building should be occupied by summer. It is just west of the old law building on Cumberland Avenue.

The new College of Law building, adjacent to the old building on Cumberland Avenue, will be dedicated Sept. 13.

Plans called for the building to be occupied in the spring or summer. The new building, begun in 1994, is an 80,000-square-foot facility that combines with the renovation of the old law building to provide 110,000 square feet of space.

The new building contains the law library and a mix of 11 classrooms, courtrooms, and seminar rooms. The old building will house faculty and administrative offices, the Legal Clinic, offices for student organizations, and a student commons area.

The project cost $21.5 million.
