Scholarship Honors Bobo


Rosemary and David Curtis of Dallas have established a scholarship in memory of her father, Samuel William Bobo of Shelbyville, Tenn.

The Curtises endowed the award, which is designated for an undergraduate student from Shelbyville, Bedford County, or Wilson County.

Bobo attended UT from 1928 to 1930 and graduated from Cumberland Law School in Lebanon. He practiced law in Shelbyville for almost 60 years, was elected to the Tennessee legislature in 1936, and served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. He died in 1995.
