Wright for the Job

The 1998-99 president of the UT National Alumni Association is Hunter Wright of Kingsport.

Wright ('61) served five terms as mayor of Kingsport. He is retired from Eastman Chemical Co., where he was a civil engineer. His wife, Sylvia ('61), is a former chair of the NAA Women's Council.

Wright will serve as president for one year and then become NAA national chairman of annual giving, the association's top volunteer fund raiser. He was NAA treasurer in 1971.

President-elect for 1998-99 is Dr. Ron Kirkland of Jackson, Tenn. He automatically will become president next summer. Other officers are Lynne Fain of Knoxville, vice president; Dr. Ray Marcrom, Manchester, treasurer; and Gary Doble, Springfield, national chairman of annual giving.
