Honorable MentionsBusiness is good at UTK. Business programs, that is. They've showed up prominently in recent national rankings, and now there are two more accolades to add to the list. Public Accounting Report calls UTK's master of accountancy program the 17th best in the nation and 12th best among public universities. And U.S. News and World Report ranked the undergraduate business administration program 37th in the country. The U.S. News rankings are based on an opinion survey of deans and administrators. There are more than 600 accredited undergraduate business programs in the U.S. The Public Accounting Report rankings are based on a survey of accounting educators. The accounting doctoral program also has been nationally recognized. Studies in 1994 and 1995 placed UTK doctoral grads in the top 10 in the number of professional articles published. The graduate program in business was 37th overall and 17th best among publicly-assisted graduate business schools in a U.S. News survey last spring. Business Week recently ranked UTK 13th in executive education, one of the top 10 in the nation for innovative programs, and first in the "key area of quality."
