This is Mugsy, a three-year-old chimpanzee. Chimpanzees live in the forests, woodlands, and mixed savannahs of Africa.
Diet
During a typical day Mugsy eats dry monkey chow, half an orange, half an apple, celery, onions, carrots (or any other fruit), and vegetables. As a special treat, Mugsy sometimes gets strawberries, his favorite food.
Did you know?
Chimpanzees are very similar to humans in many ways. For example, chimpanzees have the same blood types as we do and are able to get many of the same diseases we get.
Conservation
Chimpanzees are members of the Species Survival Plan.
